Custom Builds
Built around how your business actually works.
When a template can't hold the shape of what you do — because of your catalogue, your process, or the tool you actually need. Designed for you, run by your team, owned outright.
Most builds BND 2,000–10,000 · 2–16 weeks depending on scope · Payment split across the project
Which one is for you
Start here. Most businesses don't need a custom build.
We sell both, and we'd rather tell you the cheaper one is enough than take a project that shouldn't exist.
A monthly plan is enough if
- —You need to be online soon, without a big decision
- —A well-made template would genuinely do the job
- —Your content doesn't change much, and when it does you'd rather message us than log in
- —You want somebody else responsible for hosting, updates and things breaking
A custom build earns its cost if
- —Your team needs to publish and manage things themselves, without asking
- —You have a catalogue that changes — products, models, properties, menus, listings
- —Something about how you work doesn’t fit a normal website
- —You need software, not a website — see below
- —You want to own it outright
Four reasons people end up here.
Most projects are one of these, or a mix. None of them is bigger or better than the others — they're just different problems.
Your team needs the keys
You're adding things constantly — new services, new pages, new promotions — and every one of them currently means messaging someone. We build a content system where your staff compose pages from pieces we've already designed. They can't break the brand, because the pieces won't let them.
You’ll know it’s this if you keep saying “we’ll be adding new ones regularly.”
Your business is a list that changes
Products, models, properties, menus, stock. Every item needs the same shape — specs, images, prices, availability — and it needs to filter, sort and stay tidy no matter who typed it in. That structure is the build.
You’ll know it’s this if you’ve ever maintained your catalogue in a spreadsheet and given up.
Your process doesn't fit a website
Bookings with real rules. Quotations. Applications with stages. Anything where the visitor isn't reading a page, they're going through something. Standard templates have no answer for this — the flow has to be designed.
You’ll know it’s this if you’ve stopped describing pages and started describing steps.
Looking like everyone else is costing you
In a market where most businesses use the same handful of templates, looking genuinely considered is a real advantage — and it's the one thing a template can't give you by definition.
You’ll know it’s this if you’ve been told you look smaller than you are.
How long? A focused build is two to three weeks. Something with a full content system behind it, four to six. A real catalogue or a custom process, longer. You’ll have a timeline with your quote, not after it.
Sometimes the website isn't the problem.
Some businesses don’t need a better site — they need a tool. An internal dashboard your staff use every day. Customer accounts. Online payments. Stock synced to the system you already run. A booking system that matches your actual rules instead of bending them.
This is the work we like most, and it’s the reason we build our own products — so we know what running software actually costs after launch, not just what building it costs.
What moves the number.
Every quote is built from the same few things. Knowing them makes the first conversation faster.
- How much of it is new — Adapting a proven structure costs less than designing something that doesn’t exist yet.
- How many kinds of content — One page type is simple. Products with variants, specs, filters and related items is not.
- Who manages it after — A site we update for you is cheaper to build than a system your team runs themselves. The second one is usually worth it.
- What it has to talk to — Payments, accounts, stock systems, anything you already run. Each connection is real work.
- How fast you need it — Normal timelines cost normal money.
Tell us what you’re picturing and we’ll give you a figure — not a range that quietly doubles later.
Process
How a build actually goes.
Discovery
We work out what the site needs to do, how your content is structured, and what your team will be updating. You’ll have a figure before any work starts, and it doesn’t move unless the scope does.
From you: A conversation, any brand materials, examples of sites you like.
Design
We design the look and the page structures, and you review them. This is the stage where your input matters most.
From you: Feedback on two rounds of designs.
Build
We build the site and the systems behind it. Depends heavily on scope. The most common cause of delay — the sooner content arrives, the sooner we launch.
From you: Content and images.
Review & launch
You review everything on a private link. We test across devices and browsers, then go live.
From you: Final sign-off.
Handover
We train your team, hand over documentation, and stay available.
From you: An hour or two for training.
Timelines assume content and feedback arrive when scheduled. The most common reason a project runs long is waiting on content — we’ll tell you upfront exactly what we need and when.
Payment is split across the project: a deposit to begin, then payments at design approval and at launch. Nothing is due in one lump.
Always included.
None of this is an add-on.
After launch
Someone to call when it breaks.
A custom site is built for you specifically, which means nobody else maintains it. When the software underneath it updates — and it does, constantly — someone needs to make sure nothing breaks. That’s us.
Covers hosting oversight, security, backups, keeping everything current, and a set allowance of content changes each month. Price depends on the size of your site. A monthly plan bundles the site and the upkeep together. Here the site is yours, and the care plan is only the upkeep.
It's a line on every proposal, not something we sell you afterwards.
FAQ
Common questions.
Because the honest answer to “what does a custom build cost” is “what are you building.” The range in the header is real — most projects land between BND 2,000 and BND 10,000 — but where yours sits depends on scope, not on which description you recognised yourself in. Tell us what you need and you’ll have a firm figure, usually within a day or two.
Yes — the site, the design, and your content are yours.
We'll show you what your budget honestly covers and what we'd build in a second phase. We'd rather deliver one part properly than four parts badly.
Split across the project — deposit to start, then at design approval and at launch.
Small changes are covered by your care plan. Anything larger we'll quote separately, so you always know before you commit.
Yes, and plenty do. It's often the sensible order.
Tell us what you’re building.
Describe what your business does and what you want the thing to do. We’ll tell you which option makes sense and what it costs — including if that’s the cheapest one.
